Last week I published my bold predictions for free agency and one of them has already come to pass. With a week to go, I decided to do a bold mock draft. To help facilitate trades, I did two full rounds. Without further ado, I give you my boldest mock draft of 2025. *NFL Mock Draft Database was used for this mock.
ROUND ONE
I just don’t see the Tennessee Titans sticking with Will Levis when they have the opportunity to draft a clear upgrade.*TRADE* I don’t think it’s beyond the realm of possibility that the Sanders family will make it known that Shedeur will never play for Cleveland. Once that’s out, the New York Jets will work out a deal to move up for their franchise QB. I have the Jets signing Russell Wilson, but he’s merely a bridge QB.I have the New York Giants signing Sam Darnold, so they’ll go for the dynamic two-way ability of the Heisman Trophy winner. I think Mike Vrabel and the New England Patriots won’t be concerned with Campbell’s less than ideal length. Another player with less than ideal length, but the tape doesn’t lie. The Jacksonville Jaguars need a tone setter on their defense and Graham is it.*TRADE* Once Cleveland trades out of two, Carter slipping out of the top five becomes possible. When Jacksonville passes, the Chicago Bears pounce and work out a deal with the Raiders to land who I believe is the best overall player in the draft.*TRADE* The Cleveland Browns almost luck out after trading down by having Carter fall into their laps. Instead the Bears leapfrog them and Cleveland settles for Johnson. Not a bad consolation prize, he’ll pair with Denzel Ward to give the Browns a top notch set of corners.*TRADE* The Dallas Cowboys decide they can’t afford to wait any longer and work out a deal with Carolina to move up and get the workhorse back they’ve lacked since Ezekiel Elliott’s prime. The New Orleans Saints need an influx of youth and talent everywhere. Walker can make an impact as an edge rusher and as an off ball linebacker.*TRADE* The Las Vegas Raiders make the deal with Chicago to move down because they’re confident the receiver they’re targeting will still be there at ten.Trent Williams Hall of Fame career is winding down. The San Francisco 49ers can slot Banks in at guard until that day arrives.*TRADE* The Carolina Panthers trade down with Dallas knowing at least one of the three edge rushers they’re targeting will still be on the board.*TRADE* The Denver Broncos pull a bit of a shocker by trading up with Miami to snag a tight end that Sean Payton will have a lot of fun with.*TRADE* With Warren off the board, Indianapolis is open to moving down. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers jump ahead of the line of teams eyeing edge rushers.Green has been rising up draft boards since the Senior Bowl, I think mid-first round is the perfect spot for him. The Atlanta Falcons need to start addressing their defense. The Arizona Cardinals opt to go offensive line instead of edge rusher. Membou could stick at tackle or kick inside to guard.Stewart’s Combine testing reminded some of fellow former Aggie, Myles Garrett. The lack of collegiate production is concerning, but the Cincinnati Bengals will take a shot at Stewart’s upside. The Seattle Seahawks hit a home run here. Booker is, in my opinion, the best offensive lineman in the draft, but being a pure guard pushes his value down to mid-first round.*TRADE* After trading back with Tampa Bay, the Indianapolis Colts land one of the better players in the draft, whose positional value drives him down the board.*TRADE* The Miami Dolphins accept the deal from Denver and move down seven spots. Simmons would have been the top tackle in this class if not for the knee injury that ended his season.*TRADE* The Minnesota Vikings work out a deal with Pittsburgh to jump ahead of division rival Green Bay and land their top choice of defensive linemen. The Los Angeles Chargers won’t hesitate to add a player Jim Harbaugh knows well, at a position of great need.Minnesota jumped ahead of the Green Bay Packers for Walter Nolen, but the Packers are perfectly fine with Grant.*TRADE* I have the Pittsburgh Steelers re-signing Justin Fields as their starting QB and trading for Rams’ wide receiver Cooper Kupp. After moving down three spots in a trade with Minnesota, the Steelers give Fields the best set of receivers he’s had since college. The Houston Texans have got to address their offensive line. Conerly is the best tackle still on the board.I have the Los Angeles Rams trading Cooper Kupp to Pittsburgh. Here, they add an outside receiver to better complement Puka Nucua.*TRADE* The Buffalo Bills make a deal with Baltimore to jump ahead of Detroit to land Barron, who can play nickel or safety.I have the Detroit Lions signing Khalil Mack, but you can never have too many pass rushers. Scourton was considerably more productive than his college teammate, Shemar Stewart, who went eleven picks earlier. After trading for Deebo Samuel, which I predicted a week ago, the Washington Commanders should focus on defense. Revel is the top cornerback on the board.*TRADE* The Baltimore Ravens move down three spots in a trade with Buffalo and add a safety that should fit in well with their defense.*TRADE* The Cleveland Browns strike a deal with Kansas City to move back into the first round to get that all important fifth year option on their next QB. I have the Browns signing Mac Jones, but Dart could win the job in training camp.Campbell feels like a perfect fit for the Philadelphia Eagles. He does many things well and can impact a game in so many ways.
ROUND TWO
The Kansas City Chiefs land a versatile offensive lineman, who should be a first rounder, after trading out of the first. Tennessee gets their new QB a speedy weapon. The Las Vegas Raiders were a candidate to take Jeanty in the first round, they land their own workhorse back here. I have the Chicago Bears addressing their interior offensive line in free agency, here they round it out with another quality guard that’s shown the ability to kick outside to tackle in a pinch. The San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys both select edge rushers to pair with their superstar pass rushers.I think the Arizona Cardinals land a steal here. I love Umanmielen. The Miami Dolphins land a replacement for Jevon Holland. The Denver Broncos will likely lose Javonte Williams in free agency, they draft a replacement here. As I mentioned earlier, I have the Pittsburgh Steelers re-signing Justin Fields as their starting QB, but I think it’ll be a short term deal that’s easy to get out of if things don’t work out. Milroe is a hedging of their bet.The Green Bay Packers land an edge rusher I really like (dammit!). The Los Angeles Chargers take an edge that Jim Harbaugh saw plenty of at Michigan. The Carolina Panthers add the fastest cornerback in the draft. The Houston Texans add to their receiving corps.Brian Robinson has been decent for the Washington Commanders, but Johnson is a clear upgrade. Travis Kelce will be back for at least one more season, but the Kansas City Chiefs need a succession plan.
